Evelyn Musick's Obituary
Evelyn Lorraine Musick was born on March 1, 1946, to Amos Edward and Florence (Curtis) Osler in Iowa City, Iowa. At the age of four she was adopted into the loving home of Philip and Nina Metzger and joined her older brother, Verlon. This curly, blond-haired little girl enjoyed a happy childhood. She passed away January 4, 2013, at the Legacy Lodge in Chariton. After her graduation from Corydon High School, she moved to Chariton where she started her career as an aide in a health care facility. She remained in that field until her retirement in 2008. In October 1979, she married Robert Francis Musick. They lived on an acreage north of Chariton. They enjoyed the wildlife that came right up to their door. Over the years Evelyn mothered many stray cats and dogs. She enjoyed reading the Bible and talking to others of her hope of an everlasting life. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, adoptive parents Philip and Nina Metzger, and nephew Randy Metzger. Evelyn is survived by her brother Verlon Metzger and his family, brother-in-law Richard and his family, her co-workers at the Chariton Rehab and Nursing Center, and her Christian friends.
