Evelyn Marie Lindley's Obituary
Evelyn Marie Lindley, age 86, of Moulton, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at her home.
Evelyn was born on September 3, 1936 in Exline, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Ada (Marvin) Stevens. She was united in marriage to Lazelle Lindley, and to this union, four children were born, Shelia, Fred, Rona Sue and Sara.
Evelyn worked for The Continental and McGraw-Edison for a period of time, but her favorite profession was raising her children. In her free time, she enjoyed animals, reading, puzzles and various crafts. She loved cooking and had the best berry pies. When their children were grown, Evelyn enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Branson.
Left to cherish Evelyn's memory are her husband, Lazelle Lindley; her dog, Buddy; her children, Shelia Ann (Wally) Clark, Fred Lazelle Lindley Jr., Rona Sue Barger and Sara Marie (Robbie) Davis; grandchildren, Robert (Renee) Ashby, Roger Ashby, Christina Ashby, Keona Clark, Cory Clark, Steven Lindley, Jarrod Lindley, Susanne (Jordan Mills) Barger, Zach (Julie) Barger, Katie (Jason) Shipman, Emily Weston, David (Heather) Strode and Jenni Agan; 26 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Dolly Buckallew, Melva (Tim) Furnald, and Jack Stevens; her sister-in-law, Nancy Stokwisz; her brothers-in-law, Keith (Joy) Lindley, Wayne (Barbara) Lindley, and Marvin Lindley; as well as several extended family members.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ada Stevens; a grandson, Russell Lindley; her sister, Tootsie (Geneva) Fry; her brothers, Larry Stevens and Jim Stevens; four brothers-in-law, Don Buckallew, John Henriksen, Dale Lindley, and Dick Stokwisz; three sisters-in-law, Kay Henriksen, Doris Lindley and Ann Lindley; as well as her mother-in-law, Josephine Lindley and her father-in-law, Fred W. Lindley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, September 1, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Moulton with Pastor Marvin Lindley officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hilltown Cemetery in Moulton. Visitation will take place Friday, September 1, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Moulton with the family greeting friends from 11:00AM-1:00PM.
