Evelyn Doggett's Obituary
Evelyn Doggett, age 95, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center Long Term Care in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Pearl and Linnie (Raney) Morris on February 7, 1912 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from the Udell Community Schools in 1930, than later graduated from Northeast Teacher College in Kirksville, Missouri where she also attended Nurses Training. On August 7, 1934, Evelyn was united in marriage to Hallie Doggett in Centerville. She worked for a time at the local telephone company as an operator. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Hallie on August 23, 1980; sisters, Ruby Pence, Grace Houseman and Isal Castor; infant brother, Tommy Morris.Evelyn survived by: her sons, Lanny Doggett and his wife, Iva of Monroe, Iowa and Thomas Doggett and his wife, Marcella of Lowell, Iowa; a sister, Geraldine Kratzer of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 10 am at the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Robert Pick officiating. Burial will follow at the Haines Cemetery north of Centerville.
