Eva Shriver's Obituary
Eva Shriver, age 88 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Monday, January 05, 2009 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab.
Eva was born August 29, 1920, the daughter of Andy and Dorothy (Thompson) Van Blaricome in Centerville, Iowa. She married Gerald Shriver on November 7, 1942 in Centerville. He preceded her in death in 2001. In her spare time, Eva enjoyed reading and working on her puzzles. In her younger years, she liked to go camping with her family, as well as work in her garden. Eva attended the Church of Christ in Centerville.
Eva is survived by her three children Kay (Doug) Butler of Bettendorf, Iowa, Janette (Gary) Barber of Centerville, Iowa, and Darlene White of San Francisco, California; eight grandchildren; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, Max (Beverly) Van Blaricome of Des Moines, Iowa, and Paul Van Blaricome of Ottumwa, Iowa; and a sister, JoAnn Miller of Washington.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald Shriver; two brothers, Roy and Keith Van Blaricome; and seven sisters, Judy Stout, Lucille Ross, Gwen Lahman, Nadine Ross, Beulah Crowder, Paulette and Fern Van Blaricome.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Ben Suchman officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will be held on Thursday morning at Lange Funeral Home from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the 18-80 Club and may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
