Eugene Leslie Parham's Obituary
Eugene Leslie Parham, age 81, of Corydon, Iowa passed away on August 3, 2025 at Wayne County Hospital with his loving wife by his side.
Gene was born on October 13, 1943, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Charlie and Reta (Brandon) Parham. He graduated high school from Wayne County Community Schools. Some time after high school Gene joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on October 14, 1969. He really valued his service to his country. Later on in life, Gene worked for Wayne County Secondary Roads Department as a maintainer driver, and retired from there after 20 years.
On November 7, 1970; Gene was united in marriage to Marsha Main, together they celebrated nearly 55 years of marriage. To this union came four children: Melanie, Katherine, Gene and Kendra. Time with family was most important to Gene. He loved his wife and children, but especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and being outdoors, and sharing the stories and life lessons that he had learned with his family.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Marsha; son, Eugene (Deanna) Parham; daughter, Katherine (Erik); sisters, Eldora and Joyce Ann; grandchildren, Jayde (Tyler), Megan (Zach), Lesley, Chelsey (Steve), Jocey, Hunter, Angler (Brittney), and Holly; great-grandchildren, Blaise, Brantley, Heartlyn, Adilyn, Taelyn, Kayden, Bailey, and Willow, along with extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Reta; daughters, Melanie and Kendra; sister, Esther; brothers, Charles, Fred, Otis, and infant brother Delbert Lee.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will take place on August 23, 2025 at Corydon Cemetery, beginning at 1:00 PM.
