Eugene George Bruellman's Obituary
Eugene George Bruellman, age 77, of West Bend, Iowa, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa. He was born the son of George and Clara (Gerber) Bruellman on October 29, 1931 in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from the Ottosen Community School in 1949.Gene entered the United States Army in 1952 and served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on 1954. On November 15, 1953, Gene was united in marriage to Evelyn June Eggli in Peoria, Illinois. He farmed for many years in the Ottosen, Iowa area before he began driving truck for Werner Enterprise. He and Evie would travel together, delivering freight all over the United States. He has been a member of the Apostolic Christian Church since 1951.Some of Gene's favorite things to do include, socializing with friends and family, fishing, stain glass projects, mowing, traveling and giving to those in need.He is preceded in death by: his brother, Melvin Bruellman; his parents, George and Clara Bruellman; a son, Bryon Bruellman; granddaughter, Mindy Bruellman.Gene is survived by: his wife, Evelyn 'Evie' Bruellman of West Bend, Iowa; sons, Steven Bruellman of Ottosen, Iowa, John Bruellman and his wife, Cindy of Ottosen, Iowa and Brent Bruellman and his wife, Tracey of Aurora, Colorado; daughters, Marla Berg and her husband Bill of Rochester, Minnesota and Kandy Imlay of Des Moines, Iowa; brothers, Harley and Donald Bruellman of West Bend, Iowa; a sister, Elaine Wichtendahl of Livermore, Iowa; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Apostolic Christian Church in West Bend, Iowa with the Ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery just south of the church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 4 pm till 8 pm at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Center at 801 3rd Avenue Southwest in West Bend, Iowa.Memorials can be made in his name and will be designated at a later date and sent to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home at 501 North 18th Street in Centerville, Iowa 52544.
