Ethelyn Ruth Fisk's Obituary
Ethelyn Ruth Fisk, age 89, of Centerville, Iowa, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at her daughter's home in Eagan, Minnesota. She was born the daughter of John F. and Grace B. (Albright) Edwards on February 28, 1922 in Riverton, Nebraska. She grew up and graduated from the Clarence, Missouri High School. On November 12, 1942, Ethelyn was united in marriage to Billy L. Fisk in Santa Monica, California where Billy was in the United States Army Air Corps. When Billy was discharged for his service duty, they lived in Kansas City, MIssouri for a time and then moved to Camgill, MIssouri where they ran a grocery store for eight years. Then in 1958, She and Bill moved to Centerville where they owned and operated the Davis Paint Store until 1981, when they retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Centerville. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Bill Fisk on May 9, 1996; brother, Glenn Edwards; sisters, Fern Goacher and Laurine Lowery.Ethelyn is survived by: her daughter, Gayla Hartwick and her husband, Jerry of Eagan, Minnesota; granddaughter Gina Eller and her husband, Steve, and great grandsons Nicholas Eller and Joseph Eller of Ankeny, Iowa; grandson Jeff Hartwick and his wife, Andrea Kiehl, and great grandson Julian Hartwick and great granddaughter Luciana Hartwick of Eagan, Minnesota. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Terra Amundson officiating. Burial to follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 2 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
