Estel Henry Wolver's Obituary
Estel Henry Wolver, age 81, of Moravia, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at his home.
Estel was born on February 26, 1944 in Moulton, Iowa, the son of Floyd Ray Wolver and Hazel Marie (Hoit) Wolver. Following high school graduation, he furthered his education at Iowa Tech Trade school in Ottumwa. On August 31, 1968, Estel was united in marriage to Reta Ilene Paxston, and to this union, two children were born, Rodney and Ryan.
Estel was employed as a machinist throughout his life. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, farming, watching westerns and WWE Wrestling on T.V., being a proud-devoted Christian and democrat and spending time with his friends and family, especially his boys.
Left to honor Estel's memory are his wife of over 56 years, Reta Wolver; his children, Rodney (Sue) Wolver and Ryan Wolver (Hope Rief); his grandchildren, Shayla (Lewis) Braster, Hannah (Wesley) Butler, Sam (Amy) Wolver, Skylar Fabert, Kylie Bennett, and Blake Wolver; six great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Carol (Dave) Nitzel; as well as numerous extended family members.
Estel was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Hazel Wolver; and his siblings, Ernest Wolver, Marvin Wolver, Melvin Wolver, Edwin Wolver, LaVaughn Wickenkamp, Lois Houser, Lila Singley, Lucille Curl, and Lorna Oswalt.
Funeral services for Estel will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, April 7, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Larry Bettis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Ararat Cemetery, east of Centerville. A luncheon to celebrate Estel's life will be held following the graveside at the Moravia Grace United Methodist Fellowship Hall. All of Estel's friends and family are welcome to join. Visitation will take place Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville starting at 1PM, with the family greeting friends from 3:00-5:00PM.
