Ermon Athel Howard's Obituary
Ermon 'Ole' Athel Howard, age 92, of Moulton, IA, died Sunday, September 28, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, IA. He was born the son of William H. and Olive May (Ryan) Howard on March 14, 1911 in West Grove, IA. He graduated from Moulton High School in 1929.'Ole' was united in marriage to Reva May Wright on May 29, 1933 in Unionville, MO, she died December 14, 1985. He later married Shirley A. Swords in November, 1987 in Moulton, IA. 'Ole' delivered Bottled Gas, ran his own Saw Mill, was Town Marshall of the City of Moulton for several years and he enjoyed and did a lot of carpentry work. He was the Parade Marshall for the Moulton Jamboree Parade in 2001. He was a member of the Moulton United Methodist Church.'Ole' was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Reva May Howard; 2 daughters, Lora Lou Howard and Mary Jane Bain; brother, Marvin Howard and 2 sisters, Florence Kirby and Olef Osborn.Surviving family members are: wife, Shirley Howard of Moulton, IA; son, Scotty Howard of Moulton, IA; 4 step-daughters, Patty Steeleman and her husband, Wayne Larsen of Oskaloosa, IA, Cindy Woods of Sioux Falls, SD, Karen Strain and her husband, Bob of Livermore, CA and Sandra Brinegar of Decatur, IL; 3 brothers, L.R. Howard of Moulton, IA, William Harlan Howard Jr. of Moulton, IA and Lawrence Howard of Oregon, MO; sister, Maxine Brunsman of Winterset, IA; 5 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren.Funeral services will held on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at 1:00 pm at the Moulton United Methodist Church with Revs. Jim Schweizer and Greg Jones officiating.
