Erman M. Long's Obituary
Erman M. Long, age 94, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. He was born the son of George Allen and Oral (Gillespie) Long on April 14, 1912 in Mystic, Iowa. He received his education in the Centerville Community Schools. On April 24, 1943, Erman was united in marriage to Charlene E. Winger in Lancaster, Missouri. He was a farmer and also a truck driver for Farm Craft Feeds. He would also haul the US Mail, Grain, and Rock and had Milk Route at one time. He was a member of the Walnut City Christian Church in Walnut City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by: his parents and his wife, Charlene Long on January 5, 2007. Erman is survived by: his sons, Dr. James and his wife, Dr. Elaine Long of Boise, Idaho and Erman L. and his wife, Charlotte Long of Centerville, Iowa; daughter, Joyce and her husband, Henry Rogers of Casa Grand, Arizona; grandchildren, Matthew Long of Boise, Idaho, Andrew Long of San Francisco, California, Meghan Rogers of Los Angeles, California, Kate Rogers of Phoenix, Arizona and Amy Lee and her husband, James Brown of Centerville, Iowa; great grandchildren, Garrett and Logan Brown of Centerville, Iowa. A short Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. Burial of will follow at the Dale Cemetery north of Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.
