Emmett "Wayne" Hinote's Obituary
Emmett 'Wayne' Hinote, age 87, of Unionville, Iowa, died Saturday, December 13, 2003, at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of Paul P. and Silvia 'Smith' Hinote on December 30, 1915 in Unionville, Iowa. He graduated from Oakville High school at Oakville, Iowa and attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa for 2 years.Wayne was united in marriage on August 23, 1936 at Monmouth, Illinois to Letha Carter. He served his country during WWII in the Marines from August 4, 1945 until his honorable discharge on June 15, 1946. He farmed near Unionville and he also worked at John Morrell Packing Plant in the Rendering Dept. Ottumwa, Iowa for several years. He was a member of the Unionville Methodist Church and the American Legion in Unionville for 50 years.Wayne was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Barbara Curtis; sister, Louise Cox; 2 brothers, Paul and Edward Hinote.Surviving family members are: wife, Letha Hinote and a son, Jerry Hinote and his wife, Trudy all of Unionville, Iowa; sister, Jenny Margaret Young of Centerville, Iowa; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 2:00 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Joan Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery in Unionville with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion of Unionville.Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.
