Elrene Holsey's Obituary
Elrene Holsey, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the House of Hearts in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Walter H. and Flora C. (Coalson) Phillips on March 23, 1916 in Centerville, Iowa. She completed her education at St. Mary's High School in Omaha, Nebraska. Elrene was united in marriage to Larry Holsey in San Diego, California. She resided at the House of Hearts for the last ten years. She loved photography, for which she received several awards. Elrene was also an avid animal-lover, especially cardinals and dogs. She so enjoyed small children and traveled extensively around the United States. She will be greatly missed. Elrene is preceded in death by: her parents, Walter and Flora Phillips; and a half brother Wilbur Phillips.She is survived by: a half brother, Homer Phillips of Belavista, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend and caregiver Janet Longley. Due to Elrene's earlier wishes, her body will be donated to the University of Iowa for science and medical research.
