Eloise Elizabeth McMurry's Obituary
Eloise E. McMurry, age 80, of Centerville, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Arthur and Lula (Brown) Faris on August 19, 1934 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1952.In 1953, Eloise was united in marriage to Eudean J. (Mac) McMurry, they were later divorced. She had a daycare business in her home, taking care of local children for many years as well as she was the secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary for a number of years. She also attended the First United Methodist Church in Centerville for a time.She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Arthur & Lula Faris; her brothers, Doyle Faris, and Oscar Faris; Grandson, Bret McMurry, and a son-in-law, Matt Mattson.Eloise is survived by: her son, Craig (Bonnie) McMurry of Newton, Iowa; daughters, Tina (Greg) McBurney of Des Moines, Iowa; Connie Fairbanks of Kona, Hawaii; Celine McMurry of Grimes, Iowa and Celeste Mattson of Urbandale, Iowa; a sister, Margaret (Marv) Jacobs of Newton, Iowa; Brother, Leroy (Crecia) Faris of Centerville, Iowa; Six grandchildren: J.R. Johnson (Kate) of Bevington, Iowa, Echo McMurry of Chariton, Iowa, Landon Fairbanks of Kona, Hawaii, Kelsey Noll of Grimes, Iowa, Dustin Fairbanks of Kona, Hawaii, and Caiman Troupe of Las Vegas, Nevada; also Four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.0n Wednesday, June 17, 2015; a Celebration of Life service at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa and a Celebration of Life viewing will be held at 9:00 am to 1:00 pm - Followed by the service at 1:00 pm with Rev Kay Singley officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.Memorials can be made to an American Veterans Organization in her name and can be left or Mailed to the funeral home.
