Elo Reynolds' Obituary
Elo Reynolds, 96, of Corydon passed away on September 5, 2010 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Elo was born to Sam and Elizabeth Engle on September 18, 1913 in Corydon, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Lyman Reynolds on August 26, 1935. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1969. Also preceding her in death were brothers: Lewis Engle, Joe Engle and Doyle Engle and sisters Avis Baber and Ilo Morse. Surviving relatives are daughter Debbie Zaputil of Centerville, grandchildren Tiffany (Gregg) Lawson of Cincinnati, Iowa and Jamie (Bridgette) Zaputil of Corydon and her beloved great grandchildren Skyler and Greyson Lawson and Cody, Colton and Wyatt Zaputil. She is also survived by her sister Cleo Kent of Eddyville, Iowa, sister-in-law Reva Hughes of Chariton, Iowa and very special niece's and nephews Nancy Meddings (Dick), Marlene (Jim) Carlyle, Patsy (Leroy) Langloss, Randy Engle, Bob (Deb) Engle, Tom (Waverly) Engle, Judy (Dr. Charles) Hughes, Jim Engle, Gary (Connie) Kent, Bill (Carolyn) Kent and Barb (Steve) Soma, and several great nieces and nephews. Elo worked much of her life in the grocery business. She later had rental properties in the Corydon area and provided day care to many Wayne County children. Elo loved her church, family and friends. She was always there to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Elo was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Corydon United Methodist Church.
