Elmer E. Marvin's Obituary
Elmer Marvin, age 82, of Centerville, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Elmer was born September 15, 1924, the son of Tom and Sarah (Abbott) Marvin in Coal City, Iowa. He was in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1949 and served in World War II. Elmer enjoyed calling the numbers and playing bingo in Mystic and Rathbun. He was a member of the American Legion in Mystic, Iowa.
Elmer is survived by a forty year companion; Burdetta Weideman of Centerville, IA, two step-children; Cindy Henderson and Bill Weideman, a nephew, who is like a brother; Charles (Diana) Large of Albia, IA and many other nieces and nephews and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters; Mae Marvin, Lena Garr, Ada Stevens, and Maxine Morrow, and three brothers; Carl, Raymond, Everet (Jake) Hubert.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, December 16, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Luscan officiating. Burial will follow at the Hilltown Cemetery near Moulton, Iowa. A visitation will be held all day Friday with family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
