Ellen B. Sleeth's Obituary
Ellen ""Tyke"" Beatrice Sleeth, age 65 passed away September 14, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center, Long Term Care in Centerville, Iowa after conquering several illnesses throughout her life and courageously to the end. Tyke was a very special lady who was loved by many and who always had a smile. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved spending time with family and friends. Tyke lived in Exline, Iowa with husband, Russell.
Tyke was born in Centerville, Iowa on January 26th, 1946. She was born to Evelyn (Vandyke) and LeRoy Abbott. Her siblings were brothers; Arthur ""Sonnie"" Gerald (Jean) Abbott of Coppock, Ia, James Richard (Suzanne)Abbott of Maryville, Mo, Edward ""Butch"" LeRoy Abbott (deceased), and sister; Gracie Jean (deceased) (Jerry) Johnson; and special sister in law, Joyce Abbott.
Tyke married Russell Ray Sleeth on April 18, 1964 in Centerville, Iowa. Born to them were three children; Richard Ray (Leslie) Sleeth, Carol Ann (Brent) Weber, and Vickie Lynn (Jeff) Sleeth-Sines and Jack LeRoy Sleeth, grandchildren; Gunner Ray Sleeth, Michael Lee (Norrita) Moorman, Brittney LeeAnn and Cody LeeWeber, Tory RaeLynn Sleeth-Sines, LeAnna Faye Sleeth-Sines, great-grandchildren; Karlie LeeAnn Morelock, Makenzie Ann and Ladon Wayne Sleeth-Sines, Angel, DeVon and Amira Moorman. Tyke had many nieces, nephews, and cousins who she loved very much.
Tyke was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and LeRoy Abbott; son, Jack LeRoy Sleeth; brother, Edward ""Butch"" LeRoy Abbott; sister, Grace Jean Johnson; and grandchild LeAnna Faye Sleeth-Sines.
Graveside services will be held Monday 2PM September 20, 2010 at the Exline Cemetery. Dinner will follow at the Exline Community Center. A memorial to the family has been established and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S 18th St Centerville, Iowa 52544.
