Ellen Louise (Jackson) Benjamin was born October 16, 1953 in Corydon, Iowa to Dossie and Dorothy (Cox) Jackson and left this world on June 14, 2011 at the age of 57 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Ellen enjoyed a variety of things, first being with her family. She loved gardening and canning, raising beautiful flowers, rock collecting, arts and crafts, candle and soap making, and garage sales. She also enjoyed her travels and sight seeing with her husband in the truck. She had a love of animals and birds. Her latest hobby was learning to sew. Ellen's biggest thrill was getting a kiss from Willie Nelson. Her biggest love in life was LIFE. Ellen is survived by her husband Steve Benjamin, Allerton, daughters Kelly (Derek) and Emily (Hart), sons Tim (Julie), Randy, Owen and Ely, grandchildren Brady, Jordan, Riley, Madison, Kevon, Hailey, Dylon and Harry. She is also survived by many loving brothers and sisters Larry (Sharon) Bishop, Knoxville, Tennessee, Walter (Helen) Jackson, Eddyville, Jim (Betty) Jackson, Oskaloosa, Mary (Ronald) Stroud, Clio, Sandy Jackson, Corydon, and Steve (Sue) Jackson of West Branch. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her precious dog Sophie and cat Cassie. Her parents Dossie and Dorothy Jackson, brother Lyle Bishop, sister Donna Davis, nephew Ronnie Stroud, and mother and father-in-law Al and Ruth Benjamin preceded Ellen in death.
