Ellar Jane Dixon's Obituary
Ellar Jane Dixon, age 65, of Moulton, Iowa, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at her home in Moulton. She was born the daughter of Rodell and Bessie Mae (Davenport) Murvin on October 13, 1943 in Wilmington, North Carolina. She received her education in the Dixon School in North Carolina.On January 9, 1964, Ellar was united in marriage to Hal Joseph Dixon, Sr. in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She was a Home Health Aid for many years, and also worked a time a McGraw-Edison and over 10 years at Viskase for which she never missed a single day. She was a member of Rebekka Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary both in Moulton, Iowa.She was preceded in death by: her parents; and her step father James Wilkens.Ellar is survived by: her husband, Hal Joseph 'Joe' Dixon, Sr. of Moulton, Iowa; daughter, Joyce Cooper of Marengo, Iowa; sons, Hal Joseph Dixon, Jr. and Charles Dixon both of Moulton, Iowa; sisters, Dorothy McDowell of Leland, North Carolina, Kathleen Beesimer of Kerhonkson, New York, Julie Garrison of Chesapeake, Virginia, Hazel Sanders of Kinston, North Carolina, Bessie Rouse of Chesapeake, Virginia; brothers, Rodell Murvin, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, Jack Dempsey Murvin of Orlando, Florida, John Murvin of Durham, North Carolina, Jimmy Wilkins, Frankie Wilkins, and William Wilkins all of Kinston, North Carolina and Joe Murvin of North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and her father and mother-in-Law, Hal and Helen Dixon of Moulton, Iowa.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2009 from 2 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to her family and left at the funeral home.
