Elizabeth Wakefield, age 79, of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Craig) Bainter on October 18, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Wilson High School in Long Beach, California.On June 16, 1951, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Robert Molloy Wakefield in Bell Flower, California. She was a homemaker.She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Robert M. Wakefield, Sr.; a brother, Richard Bainter, and a sister, Jacqueline Litterell; and a daughter, Christine Louise Wakefield.Elizabeth is survived by: her sons, Robert Wakefield, Jr and his wife, Jeane of Mystic, Iowa; Jeffrey Wakefield and his wife, Jennifer of Centerville, Iowa; daughters, Susan Clark and Robbi Wakefield both of Centerville, Iowa; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with burial to follow in the Elgin Cemetery north of Mystic, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.Memorials can be made in her name and left at the funeral home.
