Elizabeth 'Betty' Spurgeon, age 66, of Moulton, Iowa, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home near Moulton. She was born on October 19, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa the daughter of Quedar and Doris Ann (Peetz) Probasco. She graduated from Moulton High School and later, completed a Nursing Program at St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport, Iowa.On January 9, 1971, Betty was united in marriage to Russel Spurgeon in Moulton, Iowa. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport, Iowa, Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa and the Gilfillan Medical Clinic in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was also a medical researcher for the Keith Law Firm in Bloomfield and enjoyed volunteering at Centerville Nursing & Rehab in Centerville, Iowa.She was preceded in death by her parents.Betty will be missed by her husband, Russel Spurgeon of Moulton, Iowa; a brother, Rick Probasco and Pat of Moulton, Iowa; and her very special coffee buddy, Jan Davis of Moulton, Iowa.Per Betty's wishes, no services or visitation will be planned.
