Elizabeth Sherwood's Obituary
Elizabeth Sherwood, age 91, of Centerville, Iowa died on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of William and Emma (Scott) Cairns on October 31, 1916 in Cincinnati, Iowa. She graduated from the Centerville Community Schools.On June 26, 1934, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Lewis Sherwood in Centerville. She worked for a time as a clerk for the JC Penny's store in Centerville, and later would work for Indian Hill Community College in the Library in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Lewis Sherwood on March 24, 2003; great grandson, Michael Scott Henderson; son-in-law, Wayne Fitzwater.Elizabeth is survived by: her sons, Bill Sherwood and his wife, Shirley of Milo, Iowa and Richard Sherwood and his wife, Deanna of Centerville, Iowa; daughters, Mary Henderson and her husband, Bucky of Centerville, Iowa and Ann Fitzwater of Moulton, Iowa; sisters, Berdeene Young of Kansas City, Missouri and Virginia Dvorak of Davenport, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren, Thirty-two great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Private graveside services are planned at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. Memorials can be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
