Elizabeth E. Long's Obituary
Elizabeth E. Long, age 65, of Promise City, Iowa, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Leo D. and Mabel (Chipley) Hibdon on October 18, 1941 near Gravis Mills, Missouri. She graduated from the Kansas City Community School and later attended Indian Hill Community College in Ottumwa to receive a Nursing Degree.On May 5, 1989, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Ronald Long in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a Home Health Aid for many years with the Wayne County Homemaker Health Aid in Corydon, Iowa. She was a member of the Promise City United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by: her father, Leo D. Hibdon.Elizabeth is also survived by: her husband, Ron Long of Promise City, Iowa; mother, Mabel Hibdon of Centerville, Iowa; sons, Russell Lewis and his wife, Lori of Allerton, Iowa, Jim Lewis of Promise City, Iowa, Monte Lewis and his wife, Carol of Centerville, Iowa, Bob Lewis and his wife, Patty of Mystic, Iowa, Mike Helmick of Promise City, Iowa, Gail Helmick and his wife, Joyce of Promise City, Iowa, and Rodney Long and his wife, Ericka of Centerville, Iowa; daughters, Connie Boyd and her husband, Bill of St. Augustine, Florida and Destiny Long of Promise City, Iowa; brother, Leo D. Hibdon of Olatha, Kansas; Twenty-three grandchildren and Eighteen great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Sharon Squires officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa.
