Elizabeth J. Fischer's Obituary
Elizabeth Fischer, age 70 of Johnston, Iowa passed away February 14, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Elizabeth was born December 30, 1940 the daughter of Henry and Mary (Davies) McDermott in Dubuque, Iowa. She married Jim Fischer on July 27, 1996 in Sturgeon Bay, WI. She enjoyed decorating, gardening and was an avid reader.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband; three children, Holly (Christopher) Hayden of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Michelle (Ray Denny) Mueller Fort Lauderdale, FL, and John (Wendy Martin) Mueller of Columbia, TN; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three siblings, Tim (Vickie) McDermott of Centerville, IA, James (Jolene) McDermott of Cedar Rapids, IA and Donna (George) Schorg of Cedar Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 AM, February 19, 2011 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will be held Friday evening with family present from 5-8 PM. A memorial has been established to ASPCA, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th ST., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
