Elda Metz's Obituary
Elda Bertelli Metz, age 84 formerly of Centerville died Wednesday October 19, 2005 at the Park View Care Center, Fairfield, Iowa.
Elda was born August 17, 1921 the daughter of John and Maria (Vieceli) Bertelli in Numa, Iowa. They preceded her in death. She married Thomas H. Simpson. He preceded her in death in 1967. Elda later married Wesley Kenneth Metz. He preceded her in death in 1996. Elda was a member of the Drake Avenue Church for over 40 years and was the Sunday school secretary. Elda worked at and retired from Tots to Teens and worked at Country Heart Antiques and Uniques.
Elda is survived by 2 daughters, Lona (Jerry) Harbison of Brighton, Iowa, and Carol (Stan) Chambers of Pleasant Hill, Missouri ; 4 grandchildren, David (Bonnie) Chambers of Lee Summit, Missouri, Craig (Tiffany) Chambers of Lee Summit, Missouri, Shawna (Scott) Keefer of Houston, Texas, and Jeremy (Julie) Harbison of Brighton, Iowa; 7 great grandchildren, Jenna Chambers, Allie Madden, Grace Chambers, Brooklyn Chambers, Alex Irvine, Alyssa Irvine, Wyatt Harbison, and Hailey Harbison. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Sereno, Silvie, Joe, Tolio, and Raymond Berttelli; and 4 sisters, Margheritt, Mary,Molly, Bruna.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday afternoon , October 22, 2005 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor Carl Heien Officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until service time at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Assoc. or the Elda Bertelli Metz Nursing Scholarship and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
