Edwin O. Johnson's Obituary
Edwin Johnson, age 91 formerly of Udell died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab, Centerville, Iowa.
Edwin was born November 28, 1914, the son of Oscar and Myrtle (Caster) Johnson in Exline, IA. Edwin graduated from Exline High School. He married Ruth M. Harris in 1939. Edwin and Ruth moved to Udell in 1960 where they both enjoyed working together on the family farm. Ruth preceded her husband in death. Edwin Volunteered for the Extension Service and owned a Saw Mill. He also was a Bee-keeper and wove rugs. Edwin was an honest, hard working man, but also enjoyed having fun. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his fishing trips to Lake Michigan. Edwin and his wife loved spending their winters in Texas. Edwin was a member of the Moulton Historical Society.
Edwin is survived by two daughters, Arlene Burns of Cedar Rapids, IA, Carol Kolb of Omaha, NE; two grandsons, Lee Kolb and Andrew Kolb both of Omaha, NE; three sisters, Eloise Johnson, Dorothy Perkins and Betty Foster. Edwin was preceded in death by his wife; parents; an infant brother, Galiard Johnson; and a sister Elfreda Bruce.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Dianne Christopher officiating. Internment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the funeral home with family present from 12-2PM. A memorial has been established to the Moulton Historical Society or the Moulton First Responders and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
