Edward Charles Symmonds' Obituary
Edward Charles Symmonds, age 67, of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Homestead of Centerville.
Edward was born on January 18, 1952 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Benny and Addie Symmonds.
Ed lived most of his life in the Davenport/Muscatine area. He was a truck driver and a delivery man, working different jobs, including taking care of his mother for many years. Later, he moved to Centerville and began working at Walmart. Ed loved his daughters and grandchildren very much. His favorite hobbies were watching movies and reading books. As Eds daughters grew up, he enjoyed spending time with them, and he especially loved to spoil them.
Ed left behind his daughters, Linsey (Rick) Rouse and Tonya (Tracy) Vandermark, both of Centerville; his grandchildren, Levi Rouse, and Camren, Cadence, and Callie Vandermark; his siblings, Melody (Steve) Kazenske and JR "Benny" (Melody) Symmonds; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Addie; a sister, Marie Yerington; a brother, Danny Symmonds; a nephew, Nathan Kazenske and a niece, Tasha Symmonds.
Per Eds wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1:00PM-4:00PM, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Centerville. Lange Funeral Home and Crematory of Centerville has been entrusted with caring for the Symmonds family. Memorials may be made out to Tonya Vandermark, to be determined at a later date, and may be dropped off or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
