Edward Dean Ashmore, age 76, of Moravia, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of John H. and Edith (Pool) Ashmore in Ottumwa, Iowa. He attended Ottumwa Community Schools.On April 9, 1965, Edward was united in marriage to Betty Taylor in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was a truck driver for many years with Oscar Myer Company in Ottumwa, Iowa.He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Jack Ashmore.Edward is survived by: his wife, Betty Ashmore of Moravia, Iowa; a son, Edward Leroy Ashmore of Moravia, Iowa; and a daughter, Becky Miller and her husband, Bill of Fremont, Iowa; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.No services or visitation are planned at this time and his ashes will be buried at a later date in the Sherman Chapel Cemetery near Drakesville, Iowa.
