Edson Cass Guinn's Obituary
Edson Cass Guinn, known as "Cowboy Eddie" to many, was born on November 12, 2023 in Des Moines, Iowa to Zebulon Augustus Guinn and Tara Rose (Adams) Guinn. He was a true rough and tough cowboy, ready from day one to be who God called him to be. Edson brought immeasurable joy and light to our lives, helping us live each day like it could be the last.
On May 6th, 2024 Edson joined his siblings EilaRose, Evelyn, and Everett at home in Moulton, Iowa. After moving home, Edson experienced horseback riding, fishing, swimming, roller skating, nature walks, game nights, movie nights, playing dress up, swinging, harvesting soybeans in the combine, church, Bible study, an Iowa State football game, the Iowa State Fair, ice cream dates, golf cart rides, shopping, siblings' summer ball games, hotel stays, crossing the bridges of Madison County, the Moulton Jamboree, a family reunion, many hours crocheting on mom's lap, an Elvis/Johnny Cash concert, the John Wayne museum, hatching baby chicks, dressing up as piglet for Halloween, Disney on Ice, shrimp boil, sitting on Santa's lap, road trips, many birthday parties, visiting the ocean, and countless hours snuggling family.
Although doctors gave him two days to live, God gave Edson 507 days on earth, spreading his love to everyone who knew him. On April 2nd, 2025, he left Gulf Shores, Alabama to join our Father in perfect peace. We know with certainty that Edson is smiling, laughing, running, jumping, singing, and praising the Lord.
The verse we chose for Edson at his birth and throughout his life was - Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Those left to honor Edson's memory and continue his legacy are his parents, Zeb and Tara Guinn; his siblings, EilaRose, Evelyn, and Everett Guinn; his grandparents, Jim and Dawn Adams and Eddie and Melanie Guinn; his great grandparents, Ilalee Fjetland, Jerry and Frances Probasco, and Tom and Deanna Lifka; as well as 19 cousins, aunts, uncles, and beloved family members and friends.Edson was welcomed to heaven by his grandmother, Connie Adams and an infant brother, Eden Daniel Guinn.
