Edna D. Tock's Obituary
Edna Tock, age 93, of Ankeny, Iowa and a former Centerville, Iowa resident, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born the daughter of James C. and Flora (Ball) Carter on February 5, 1916 near Plano, Iowa.In 1938, Edna was united in marriage to William Andrew 'Bill' Tock in Centerville, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church while living in Centerville. Later, she would move to the Mill Pond Retirement Community in Ankeny, Iowa and would become a member of the Ankeny Baptist Church.She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Bill Tock on September 2, 1980; a son, Fred Tock; a sister, Louise Carter; brothers, James Carter and Raymond Carter and one brother in infancy; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Tock; and a brother-in-law, John Milnes.Edna is survived by: her two sons, Rev. John Tock and his wife, Allyn of Glendale, Arizona and Richard Tock and his wife, Phoebe of Humbolt, Iowa; a sister, Mary Jane Milnes of Sumner, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Lucille Carter of Iowa Falls, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 10 am at the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa with Rev's Brian Hargrave and John Tock officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville following the services at the church. Visitation will be open at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 1 pm till 6 pm. The family will greet friends 1 hour before services at the church on Monday.Memorials can be made to Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa and left at the funeral home.
