Edmond "Ed" McCart's Obituary
Edmond Lyle McCart, 77, of Blue Eye, Missouri, died December 28, 2018 at home. Ed was born January 29, 1941 in Wayne County, Iowa to Elmer and Donna (Carlson) McCart. On August 4, 1984, Ed was united in marriage to Janice Basore in Independence, Kansas. Ed enjoyed his time with family and traveling within the country and abroad with Janice; he also enjoyed fishing. Ed was a man of faith and a member of the Sierra Vista Methodist Church in San Angelo, TX. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice; son J. Michael McCart of Monument, CO; daughter Shelly (husband Roger) Corbin of Sunrise Beach, MO; daughter Jera (husband Steve) Elmore of Summerville, SC; son Jared McCart of Kansas City, MO; daughter Jaci (husband Jim) Bellemare of San Angelo, TX. He has 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Kenneth (wife Carolyn) McCart and Don (wife Bonnie) McCart both of Corydon, IA and sister Janice Bishop of Walnut Creek, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson and brother. He did volunteer work with multiple organizations throughout his life such as: nursing homes, hospitals, Relay for Life, community centers and was president of the foundation board at a local library. He was most proud of his volunteer work in building a remote health clinic in Ghana, West Africa. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, IA. Interment will follow at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 31, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
