Edith Marlene Spencer's Obituary
Edith Marlene (Langloss) Spencer, age 76, of Corydon, Iowa passed away on March 24, 2025 at Corydon Specialty Care.
Marlene was born on January 28, 1949, the daughter of Wilbur and Macy (Lindgren) Langloss. She went to school at Allerton High School, somewhere along the way, she met the love of her life, LeRoy Spencer. On July 2, 1966 Marlene married LeRoy. To this union two sons were born and raised: Rick and Russ.
After high school Marlene worked at a sewing factory in Chariton for a while. She then became a homemaker, raising her boys and spending time taking care of her family. When both boys were old enough, Marlene decided to go back to work. She worked as a cook at restaurants before working at Shivver's in Corydon. She was a great mother, wife, and grandmother. She was very supportive in watching the boys at motorcycle races.
She enjoyed traveling around and camping. Marlene loved being outside in nature, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. She was an excellent cook, and loved to cook for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting as well.
Marlene is survived by her sons; Rick (Kenda) Spencer and Russ Spencer; grandchildren Tyler Spencer, Taylor Spencer (Kaitie Hundley), Grayson Spencer, Blaine Spencer, Corbin Spencer, Jade Spencer (Alysha Shutt), Brock Spencer (Emily Grismore) Koda Spencer, and Archer Spencer; great-granddaughter Shaddixx Spencer; brother Gary Langloss; sisters-in-law Louise Langloss, Sheryl Spencer, Betty Nichols and numerous extended family and friends.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her parents; her in-laws; William and Merna Spencer; a brother, Danny Langloss; sister-in-law Margaret Brandon; and brother-in-law Larry Spencer.
Visitation for Marlene will be from 3:00PM - 5:00PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon on Sunday March 30, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon.
