Edith Hawk's Obituary
Edith Elaine Mullins was born February 8, 1947 in Centerville, Iowa to Henderson Webb O'Neil Mullins and Clara Kathleen (Streepy) Mullins.
She was the oldest of 6 children. They were all there for one another whenever needed. Connie (Donnie) Robinson, Michael "Moon" Mullins, Deborah (Steve) Ogle, Rose "Scooter" (Doug) Courtney, and Bill "BL" Mullins.
She graduated from Moravia High School with the class of 1965. She married her highschool sweetheart, Harold "Sonny" Hawk on February 25, 1966 in Milan, Missouri. To this union 4 children were hatched; Brent, Chris, Sunny and Dr. Joe (Ashley) Hawk. Sonny and Edie divorced in 1991 but remained close friends.
After high school Edie attended beauty school in Ottumwa for a short time. She decided to help work the farm with Sonny and raise her children. She was also a waitress at the Saddle Rock cafe and Mapos. At the farm, there was always a pot of coffee ready for neighbors and friends and delicious homemade food on the table. Notably pork chops and cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, reading romance novels and going dancing. She later retired from Bemis factory in 2009.
After retirement Edie could be found visiting with neighbors at the apartments in Moravia, going on exciting genealogy trips with sister Connie or watching a grandchild's sporting event or Hawkeyes football.
Edie was preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband. She is survived by her siblings and children.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Uncle Bill Mullins and the following grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Malisha (Josh) Hagan and their children Noah, Sophia, Ella, Aria and Cora. Courtney Hawk and her son Silas. Emily Hawk, Ethan Hawk, Kerryc Hawk, John Rosenberg, Corbin Gooden, Riley Hawk and Madelyn Anders. Honorary grandsons Levi Hawk (Alexandria) & Troy Cassady. She also leaves behind her very best friend Madelyn (Sinclair) Tetmeyer.
