Edith M. Bryant's Obituary
Edith M. Bryant, age 83, of Udell, Iowa, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Tobias and Martha Alice (Rayburn) Logan on February 14, 1924 near Upper Tygart, Kentucky. She was educated in a rural country school.On December 14, 1949, Edith was united in marriage to Loral Isaac Bryant at Olive Hill, Kentucky. They farmed for over 50 years in the Udell area. Although Edith was unable to talk during her later years, she truly enjoyed puttering around her farmhouse near Udell, Iowa. She also enjoyed the fellowship at the Fairview Church of the Brethren where she was a member for over 50 years. Edith was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Unionville, Iowa.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Loral Bryant on February 18, 1997; brothers, Lee, Bert and Jack Logan.Edith is survived by: her son, Dennis Bryant of Udell, Iowa; daughter, Joy Rude and her husband, Dave of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Krista Rude of Des Moines, Iowa, Kayla Bryant of Altoona, Iowa and Loran Bryant of Moulton, Iowa; brothers, Carl Logan of Columbus, Ohio, Floyd Logan of West Portsmouth, Ohio, Lloyd Logan of South Shore, Kentucky and Enoch Logan of Fort Myers, Florida; sister, Myrtle Murray of Portsmouth, Ohio; also many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 1 pm at the Fairview Church of the Brethren near Udell, Iowa with Rev. Carl Heien and Marilyn Koehler officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Udell. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 3 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Fairview Cemetery Association and can be left at the funeral home.
