Edith Beaty's Obituary
Edith Beaty, age 98, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, October 8, 2005, at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Orville and Ottie (Long) Lain northwest of Walnut City, Iowa on March 11, 1907. She graduated from the Centerville Community Schools.On June 28, 1931, Edith was united in marriage to Lewis R. Beaty in Centerville. She worked beside her husband on the family farm for many years. Edith was a member of the North Bend Christian Church, North Bend Ladies Aid, the 18/80 Club in Centerville as well as the Farm Bureau.Edith was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Lewis Beaty on December 12, 1994; son, Dale Beaty in 1958; brother, George Lain; sister, Ilo Lain; and son-in-law, Donald Dudley on June 9, 2002.She is survived by: a son, James and his wife, Donna Beaty of Mystic, Iowa; daughters, Donna Dudley of Centerville, Iowa, Joyce and her husband, Howard Phillips of Mystic, Iowa, Janice and her husband, LeRoy Gardner of Centerville, Iowa and Rita and her husband, Kenneth Martin of Moravia, Iowa; 16 grandchildren,. 22 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating with burial in the Concord Cemetery northwest of Mystic, Iowa.
