Ed "E.N." Huston's Obituary
Edward Noel (E.N.) Huston, 91, passed away on December 6, 2017. He was born to Fred M. and Fra (Riley) Huston on July 5, 1926 in Allerton, Iowa. Ed served in the Army from 1944-1947. He was married to Donna Jean (Garver) in 1958 and Ed and Donna celebrated 58 years of marriage together in 2016. Ed and Donna raised two children, James R. Burger and Jane Collier. Ed worked as a rural postal mail carrier for 40 years. He was a member of the Iowa and National Rural Letter Carriers' Association, American Legion Post #68 and American Legion Post #111, Life member of 40/8 Voiture 626, VFW and Disabled American Veterans Associations and served as an administrator for the Wayne County Veterans' Affairs Association for 25 years. Ed and Donna were devoted Christians and set a fine example of Christian faithfulness, devotion to God and family, leadership, commitment, a strong work ethic and love for each other. Ed and Donna are survived by daughter, Jane Collier (Chuck) of Edmond, OK, grandchildren; Lindsey Dietz (Eric), Edmond OK and Lauren Young (Ryan) of Oklahoma City, OK, and one great grandchild, Emilia Dietz. They were preceded in death by an infant daughter, parents Fred and Fra Huston and Lloyd and Gladys Garver, son James Burger, brother, Jerry Huston , sister, Marian Havens, and brother-in-law James Havens. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will be held at Corydon Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Prairie Trails Museum, Corydon First Christian Church or Corydon & Allerton American Legion. Condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
