Earl Edward Mason's Obituary
Earl Edward Mason, age 87, of Centerville, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born the son of Charles F. and Dorcas (Mayden) Mason on May 31, 1920 in Stet, Missouri. He graduated from the Central Consolidated School in Rockingham, Missouri.On February 1010, 1957, he was united in marriage to Betty Cassel Hartley in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. He farmed in the Udell and Chillicothe, Iowa area for many years. Earl was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren near Unionville, Iowa.He is preceded in death by his parents.Earl is survived by: his wife, Betty Mason of Centerville, Iowa; son, Tom and his wife, Diane Mason of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter, Mary Jane and her husband, David Reckowski of Salem, Missouri; brothers, Henry Mason of Higginsville, Missouri, James Mason of North Manchester, Indiana, Frank Mason of Shelbyville, Missouri, Harold Mason of Shirley, Arkansas and Paul Mason of Farmington, Pennsylvania; along with many nieces and nephews.Please join the family as they remember the life of Earl Edward Mason on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 2 pm at the downstairs dining room of the Continental at St. Joseph's in Centerville, Iowa. They ask that you dress casually and come prepared to share some memories and thoughts of Earl's life, and leave a little room for pie and coffee.
