Earl Ira Ingram's Obituary
Earl Ira Ingram, age 67, of Seymour, Iowa, died Friday, September 19, 2008, at his home in Seymour. He was born the son of Wesley and Pansy (Cox) Ingram on April 20, 1941 in Promise City, Iowa. He graduated from the Corydon Community Schools in 1959.On June 20, 1965, Earl was united in marriage to Lola 'Louise' Virden in Leon, Iowa. Earl spent 20 years serving his country in the United States Navy. He served during the Viet Nam Conflict off the coast of Viet Nam as well as serving near Japan at one time. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the Corydon American Legion in Corydon, Iowa. When he returned from his service, he then farmed for over 17 years, and also worked at Walmart on the night shift for over 10 years before his health failed. He was a member of the Seymour Christian Church in Seymour, Iowa. He will be missed by numerous friends and familyHe is preceded in death by: his father, Wesley Ingram; step-mother, Irene Ingram; step-father, Glenn Frank.Earl is survived by: his wife, Louise Ingram of Seymour, Iowa; son, Harold Ingram and his wife, Melissa of Baumholder,, Germany; daughter, Sheila Ingram of Centerville, Iowa; mother, Pansy Frank of Seymour, Iowa, brothers, Gary Ingram of Chariton, Iowa and LeRoy Ingram of Williamson, Iowa; sister, Joan Jackson of Seymour, Iowa; two step-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Melvin Green officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2008 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Mercy Medical Center's Chemo Unit in Centerville and can be left at the funeral home.
