Dwight Francis Proctor's Obituary
Dwight Francis Proctor, age 70, of Blakesburg, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at Oakwood Specialty Care in Albia.
Dwight was born on April 29, 1953 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Carl and Donna (Sinnott) Proctor. A 1971 graduate of Blakesburg High School, worked at Clow Corporation in Oskaloosa until December 13, 1971. He then joined the United States Army, attending bootcamp at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri before being stationed in Germany. Upon returning to the United States, Dwight was honorably discharged in December of 1973, and went back to work where he retired after more than 45 years.
Dwight loved his sports including, Dale Earnhart, Denver Broncos and the St. Louis Cardinals. He hosted a Superbowl party for over 40 years, and also hosted a March Madness Final 4 and Finals. He was also a member of the Albia American Legion.
Left to honor Dwight's memory are his sisters, Bev (Randy) Sheffler and Rhonda Proctor; as well as several extended family and friends.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Donna Proctor; his brother, Carl Proctor Jr.; and his niece, Courtney Sheffler.Graveside services with military rites will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Blakesburg Cemetery in Blakesburg, Iowa.
