Dwight Trenton McDanel's Obituary
Dwight Trenton McDanel, age 86 of Moravia, Iowa passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines.
He was born May 4th, 1930 to Doyle & Ida (Wood) McDanel. He grew up on a farm outside Moravia, attended country school and Moravia High school. Trenton served in the United States Airforce and was a Korean War Veteran.
Trenton married Joyce Remmark on August 2nd, 1953. They moved to Kellogg, IA where they lived on a farm for 6 years before buying a farm northeast of Moravia. After farming for 22 years he ended his career by working for the Appanoose County Road Department.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Trenton didnt know a stranger and was known for his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
Trenton is survived by his three children, David (Crystal Stauch) McDanel of Sweet Springs, Missouri, Dee Ann (Don) Argo of Norwalk, Iowa, and Donna McDanel of Altoona, Iowa; Brother Mervin (Linda) McDanel of Moravia, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Greg McDanel, Tessa Torrez, Lexie Lower, , Alyssa Torrez, Logan Torrez, and Kaylee Argo; 1 great grandchild, Taylor McDanel; as well as a host of other family members.
Trenton was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce and brother, Wayne McDanel.
A visitation will be held Friday April 21, 2017 at 9:30-11:00am at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Moravia. Funeral services will take place at 11am at the Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, Iowa on Friday April 21, 2017 with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the HCI Kavanagh House and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
