Duane Rhodes' Obituary
Duane Rhodes, 84 of Corydon passed away on May 7, 2018 at Wayne County Hospital. Duane was born on March 14, 1934 in Wayne County, Iowa to Vern and Mildred (Latimer) Rhodes. He attended Corydon Schools. After graduating he enlisted in to the United States Navy. After honorably discharging from the Navy he worked for the State Highway department and farmed his family's farm for 42 years. He was united in marriage to Minnie (Fuller) Tarbell and he and Minnie moved from the farm to Corydon on May 1, 2015. Duane is survived by his wife of 35 years Minnie, son Jesse Dean (Linda) Rhodes, two granddaughters; Dara and Jackie Rhodes, three great grandsons; Duane, Brock, and Braden Rhodes, sister Verna Wilkinson (Larry) and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three favorite dogs; Bear, Mitzi, and Buddy. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 10-11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow the service at Corydon Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by Corydon and Allerton American Legion. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
