Doyle Kinser's Obituary
Wesley Doyle Kinser, 90, of Corydon, passed away on March 15, 2018 at Corydon Specialty Care. Doyle was born on June 7, 1927 in Edgemont, South Dakota to Wesley J and Lura (Bellon) Kinser. At the age of 14, Doyle and his family moved from South Dakota to the Allerton area to farm. Later the family moved to Seymour, and Doyle graduated from Seymour High School in 1945. After graduation, he worked as a linesman for the REC helping to install the electrical transmission lines to the rural areas and later worked for John Deere in Des Moines. In 1950, He was inducted into the United States Army 10th Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. While on leave, Doyle married Pearl Josephine Hancox on June 3, 1950 and then went on to serve in the Korean War with Company B 85th Infantry. After honorable discharge from the military, Doyle farmed for several years. In 1968, he was employed at the Hy-Vee warehouse where he drove a straight-truck and pulled groceries. Later, he drove a semi for Hy-Vee and eventually became a forklift operator for the company. He worked for Hy-Vee for over 24 years and retired in 1992. In his spare time, Doyle enjoyed fishing, gardening, helping to work the cattle and polka dancing with his wife at various festivals. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 147. Doyle is survived by his wife, Josephine; daughters: Karen (Wayne) Lovelette of Eagle Butte, South Dakota and Sharon (Vernon) Wallace of Allerton; grandchildren: Logan (Samantha) Wallace of Corydon and Jade Baker; great granddaughter, Emery Wallace, great grandson Christopher Franzen, and a sister, Darlene Timmons of Rogers, Arkansas. He is also survived by numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ellen Matthews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon.
