Douglas Lee Raef's Obituary
Douglas Lee Raef, age 63, of Seymour, Iowa passed away on March 25, 2026.
Douglas was born on November 7, 1962 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Howard and Mildred (Rittinghouse) Raef. He graduated from school in De Soto, Kansas.
Throughout life Doug was an over the road truck driver, and traveled far and wide. He enjoyed the freedom of being on the road. He also enjoyed his time at home, spending time peacefully fishing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren; they were his world.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Christina Raef; children, Johnnie (Justus) Frederick and Bobby (Monica) Howell; grandchildren, Jayley, Jemma, Jada, Marilyn, Robby, Piper and Birdie; step-grandchildren, Silas and Paisley; sisters, Linda Legendre, Freda Allen, and Katherine (Scott) Cartee; father-in-law, John Lytle, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Raef; aunt, Kathleen Raef; and mother-in-law, Charlene Lytle.
Cremation has been accorded. An open house will take place on June 27th at Christina's house, with a reminder to bring your fishing poles.
