D.G. Ledford's Obituary
Dorvin George "D.G." Ledford
Dorvin George "D.G." Ledford, 82, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Brookfield Life Care Center.
D.G. was born on March 9, 1944, in Trenton, Missouri, to Dorvin and Erma Ledford. He was raised in Princeton, where he developed the strong work ethic and love for the land that would define much of his life. He went on to attend Northeast Missouri State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, before returning to Princeton to farm with his dad.
On July 31, 1970, D.G. married the love of his life, June Ann McClaskey. Early in their marriage, they lived in Spickard before settling in Unionville in 1971, where they built their life together and raised their family. Unionville remained his home for the rest of his life.
D.G. had a deep passion for farming, which was more than a livelihood - it was a way of life. He took great pride in his work and found joy in the land, carrying on traditions rooted in dedication, resilience, and care. He also had a love for antique cars and the stories they carried. He and June Ann especially enjoyed their 1966 Thunderbird, traveling the area together to attend car shows and share their pride and joy with others.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, June Ann Ledford; his son, Greg Ledford; his daughter, Dee Ledford Malone and her husband Jay; and his beloved grandchildren, Shelby Ledford and Gus Malone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorvin and Erma Ledford, and his infant brother, Charles, and sister, Ruth.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Brookfield Life Care Center for the love, compassion, and attentive care they provided to D.G. over the past three years. Their kindness brought comfort not only to him, but to all who loved him.
