Dorothy Mae Vincent's Obituary
Dorothy Mae Vincent, age 91, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Elmer and Ida (Philby) Moden on November 17, 1915 in Plano, Iowa. She graduated from the Plano Community Schools.On May 17, 1942, Dorothy was united in marriage to Lloyd 'Jack' Vincent in Unionville, Missouri. She worked for a time as a waitress at the Blue Bird Cafe and State Way, she later would become a Nurses Aid and work for several years for the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville as well as St. Joseph's Hospital also in Centerville. She was a long time member of the Plano Christian Church in Plano, Iowa.She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Lloyd 'Jack' Vincent on September 19, 1992; daughter, Patty Crow; brothers, Jim and Earnie Moden; sisters, Edith Wahl, Ruth Elwood and Leona Weber.Dorothy is survived by: her daughter, Dianna Kirkland and her husband, Gary of Centerville, Iowa; grandchildren, Darrin Kirkland and his wife, Teresa of Moravia, Iowa, Madonna Kirkland of Bloomington, Illinois, Todd Crow of Pekin, Illinois and Brenda Morgan of Clinton, Illinois; great granddaughter, Danielle Lewis of Seymour, Iowa; and step-great grandson, Dustin Warnick of Mystic, Iowa; brother, Merle Moden of Meza, Arizona; sister, Ava Sparks of Des Moines, Iowa; and a son-in-law, Charles Crow of Groveland, Illinois. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 11 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. David Welch officiating. Burial will follow at the Haines Cemetery north of Centerville. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007 from 9 am till the time of services at the funeral home with the family present from 10 am till 11 am.Memorials can be made to the Haines Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home.
