Dorothy E. Schwager's Obituary
Dorothy Williams-Schwager began her life and ended her life in Centerville on Sunday, September 21, 2008 with her beloved husband Walter Schwager by her side. She was born January 26, 1925. Dorothy lived and raised her children in the Quad Cities area then returned to Centerville after her retirement from Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island, IL. Dorothy married Walter Schwager on November 28, 1968 in Rock Island, Illinois. She leaves behind her daughters and son in laws, Virginia (Bill) Fulmer of LeClaire, IA, Gloria (Keith) Ahrens of Davenport, IA, and Barbara Moody of Rockford, IL; one step-son, Pete Schwager of East Moline, IA; a step-daughter, Judy Wells of Tennessee; and a foster-son, Richard Colburn of Centerville, IA. She had eleven brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Sexton, Karen (Mick) Kauzlarich, Cheryl (Jerry) Walters, Donald (Twillia) Williams, Jimmy (Mary) Williams, Gary (Judy) Williams, Richard (Judy) Williams; and sister-in-laws, Pattie Silknitter Geoffrey and Loretta Williams. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In her journey home to heaven she will be reunited with her sons, John Dale and Michael David; parents, Loraine and Iva Williams; two brothers, Ronald and Charles; two sisters, Darlene and Margie; and a best friend, Violet Bubenyak. Dorothy loved life and her family and friends always came first. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Haines Cemetery. A visitation will be Thursday with family present from 10-11 AM. A memorial has been established to the Golden Age Care Center and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
