Dorothy "June" Duley's Obituary
Dorothy June Duley, age 92, of Moulton, Iowa, died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Esthel and Blanche (Matherly) Houser on June 10, 1924 in Moravia, Iowa. She graduated from the Centerville High School in Centerville, Iowa in 1943. After graduation she worked at the Federal Bakery in Ottumwa, Iowa. Then on December 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to Richard Dean Duley in Lancaster, Missouri and were married over 72 years. June was a homemaker and a 'railroad' wife. June stayed in Moulton after Dean was promoted to Engineer on the Wabash Railroad and he moved to Moberly, Missouri so the boys could graduate from Moulton High School. During his career they lived in Moulton, Iowa, Moberly, Missouri and Decatur, Illinois before they moved back to Moulton in 1975.After moving back to Moulton, June helped out at the Duley Funeral Homes whenever she was needed. She was a 50 year member of the Moulton Order of Eastern Star and the Moulton United Methodist Church. June will be remembered by many for the delicious pies she baked. She is preceded in death by: her parents; four brothers, Billy, Donald, Bob and Paul Houser; two sisters, Opal Van Dorn and Ruby Houser.June is survived by: her husband, Dean Duley of Moulton, Iowa; two sons, David Duley and his wife, Susan of Lake Ozark, Missouri and Richard Duley and his wife, Deanna of Moberly, Missouri; Six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Revs. Jerry Weller and Steve Houser officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2 pm until 8 pm on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 5 pm until 7 pm.
