Dorothy Adler's Obituary
Dorothy Adler, 83 of Carlisle formerly of Centerville died Tuesday January 11, 2005 at the Carlisle Care Center in Carlisle.
Dorothy was born December 25, 1921 to Martin and Lillie (Roby) Clemens in Centerville. She married Paul Potter who preceded her in death in 1945 during World War II. Dorothy remarried Gerald Adler and he preceded her in death in 1986. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed time spent with her family.
Surviving are four children, Shirley Willis of Des Moines, Ralph Adler and his wife Polly of Des Moines, Teresa Calderon and her husband Lupe of Boone, Jerry Adler and Janet Plyer of Rathbun, Iowa; brothers Arvel Clemens and his wife Lois of Des Moines, Charles Clemens of Des Moines, two sisters; Hattie Jones of Centerville and Virginia Clark of Brazil, Iowa. Dorothy was also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Paul Potter and Gerald Adler, five sisters; Katherine Peel, Lucille Cline, Opal Perry, Sylvia Abbott, Virgil Clemens; three brothers; Richard, Leroy, John Clemens, grandson Terrance Haines, great granddaughter Amanda Adler.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery following the funeral. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 15 at Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville. A memorial has been established which may be left at or mailed to Thomas Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St. Centerville, Iowa 52544.
