Doris Raskie's Obituary
Doris Raskie, age 75 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Doris was born on February 24, 1941in Plano, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Leona (Hawk) Kirkland. She was united in marriage to Steve Raskie on June 7, 1958. From this union, five children were born, Rick, Mike, Steve, Cindy, and Stacey.
Doris was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for large family gatherings. She was very fond of flowers as well. Moreover, she loved her family more than anything. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville for many years.
She is survived by her husband Steve Raskie of Centerville; her children, Rick (Rhonda) Raskie of Exline, Mike (Shona) Raskie of Exline, Steve Raskie of Centerville, Cindy Myers of Centerville, and Stacey (Tray) Wade of West Des Moines; eleven grandchildren, Robert Raskie, Rendy Raskie, Randall (Shannon Jackson) Raskie, Natasha Myers, Jacob Myers, Ashley (Jonathan) Hart, Lacey Myers, Ciesel Myers, Katie Myers, Hallye Wade, and Norah Wade; five great grandchildren, Gracie McVeigh, Taylor McVeigh, Torri McVeigh, Harper Hart, and Raleigh Raskie; a sister Bonnie (Richard) Bessie; two brothers, Donnie Kirkland and Gary (Diane) Kirkland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Leona Kirkland; two sisters, Audrey Kirkland and Bertha Brown; and three brothers, Raymond Kirkland, Leslie Kirkland, and Ronald Kirkland.
According to her wishes, Doris will be cremated. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa, with the family greeting friends from 5-7 PM. A Rosary Service will be conducted by Father Bill Hubmann at the conclusion of the visitation.
