Doris Morrow's Obituary
Doris Morrow, 91 of Centerville passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Mercy One - Long Term Care in Centerville. Doris was born to Ernest & Edna (Jay) Stansberry on June 18, 1929 in Moulton. Doris received her education from Moulton High School, graduating in 1947. On December 31, 1948, Doris was united in marriage to Glen Morrow. To this union came three children: Donna, Roger and Natalie. Doris did numerous things throughout her life. First and foremost, Doris was a farm wife. She was vital in raising her children and taking care of the home for her husband. As her kids grew in to adulthood, Doris began working outside of the home. She repurposed furniture, flipped houses, remodeled the old college dorms and turned in to apartments. Doris was hardworking, loyal and a strong woman. She was a creative seamstress and at one point in her life, she raised sheep on her own. She enjoyed gardening, was involved in 4-H all of her life and was a big supporter of the Appanoose County Fair. Survivors include her children: Donna Ursta (Bill), Roger Morrow (Lori), Natalie Morrow, four grandchildren; Jennifer Benz (Steve), Joanna Johnson (Deric), Brad Morrow (Kelli), Wade Morrow, five great grandchildren; Lee Benz, Sam Benz, Bayleigh Maldonado (Kyle), Josey Morrow, Jason Morrow, great great grandchild, Zander Maldonado and numerous extended family. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Glen on July 16, 2008, siblings: Norma Wellen, Marvin Stansberry and her parents. Funeral service will be 10:30 am, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with family present. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral at Hilltown Cemetery near Moulton. Visitation without family will be from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Appanoose County Fair and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome. The service will be streamed live on the facebook page.
