Doris "Gayle" Huff's Obituary
Doris 'Gayle' Huff, age 83, of Moravia, Iowa, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Fuller) Sandeen on June 30, 1924 near Albia, Iowa. She graduated from the Albia Community Schools in 1941 and then attended Iowa Success Business School in Ottumwa, Iowa.On September 12, 1944, Gayle was united in marriage to Harold 'Gene' Huff in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She worked for a time as a secretary of the Burlington Truck Company. Later she would farm with her husband north of Mystic, Iowa before moving to their currant home in Moravia, Iowa. She was a member of Brushy Christian Church north of Plano, Iowa.She was preceded in death by her parents.Gayle is survived by: her husband, Gene Huff of Moravia, Iowa; sons, John and his wife, Aleatha Huff of Harvey, Iowa, Tary and his wife, Pam Huff of Moravia, Iowa and Steve and his wife, Kathie Huff of Knoxville, Iowa; brother, Fred Sandeen and his wife, Joyce of Blakesburg, Iowa; sisters, Gaynele Sandeen of Ottuwma, Iowa and Eva May Wallace and her husband, Bill of Ankeny, Iowa; Nine grandchildren and Thirteen great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Merle Prater officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery near Moravia, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 2 pm till 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the First Responders of Moravia, Iowa or to the family and can be left at the funeral home.
